Adramelech

This is the sort of image you might see in a medieval text, but the Christian imagery has been inverted. The central demon featured here represents the snake in Genesis. Historically, the Christian faith has often tried to restrict thought and suppress new discoveries. This is hardly surprising given its claim that God punished Man for seeking knowledge. To me, the Book of Genesis confirms Christianity as an anti-intellectual faith; it also describes a god who does not deserve to be worshipped at all.
